We’re Ross and Amanda, and we live just south of Sydney in NSW.

Our kitchen used to have a familiar routine. We’d do a big shop, fill the pantry, and a few weeks later start throwing things out. There were the crackers that went soft after two days, and the bulk nuts we bought to save money, which went off before we finished them. With busy weeks, work and everything else going on, food was being wasted faster than we noticed.

Then Ross came across a mason jar vacuum sealer. We tried it on the crackers first, almost as an experiment. A few weeks later they still tasted like the day we opened it. Then we sealed the coffee, the nuts and the leftovers. Our pantry went from a collection of half-open bags to rows of jars we could actually see into. We were throwing out less, and buying in bulk finally made sense.

That’s why Food Fresh exists. We’re not food scientists or a big company. We’re two people who found something simple that worked in our own kitchen and wanted to share it with other Australian households. Everything we sell has to pass one test: would we use it at home?
